About Counselling
When it comes to counselling, regardless of the modality or theoretical approach, it is the therapeutic alliance between the client and therapist that is most important. From the trust that grows from this alliance, comes an invitation to be vulnerable and open in session. Counselling is a judgement free zone where clients can be met with empathy and unconditional positive regard.
Ashley believes that there aren’t many other spaces in life where one can speak freely and whole heartedly about their thoughts, feeling and concerns knowing that it will stay confidential. With this confidentiality one can also expect to have an ally there with them while express what they have been through or what they are currently going through. The number of sessions needed for counselling can vary depending on the individual and the specific concerns they are working on.
Some examples of goals one might come to counselling for:
Managing stress and anxiety: Learning techniques to cope with stress and reduce anxiety levels.
Improving communication skills: Enhancing communication patterns to build healthier relationships.
Building self-esteem: Developing a positive self-image and improving self-confidence.
Grief and loss: Processing and navigating through the emotions associated with the loss of a loved one.
